Daniele Mattioli Recently Forlì, my hometown, is trying to get refreshed by attracting students and young people there. That is why I think a youth hostel would fill a gap, in particular by engaging in such contemporary issues as environmental sustainability and cultural promotion. That is why I think a socially engaged, democratically ruled and international-oriented company as a European co-op would represent the best choice to start this type of business. email: daniele.mattioli@studio.unibo.it |

Miguel Berbetores Gonzalez Hello! I’m Miguel, I’m from Spain. The first thing I would like to say is that this cooperative project has been wonderful for our understanding of the cooperative movement and I have learnt a new form of working in a group with people from other countries. In the last 3 years I have been learning about the co-operative movement in the Basque Country and now I’m surprised because I’ve seen the same things in another country, with people that have another way of doing things, of learning and thinking… It’s wonderful. email: mberbetores89@gmail.com |

Karmelo Vicente My name is Karmelo Vicente, from Basque Country. At the moment, I´m studying Business Administration in a Cooperative at Mondragon University. For me, a cooperative is another kind of company, where one member is one vote, and the way of organizing the structure of the company is different. In Basque Country this kind of company is not very usual, although Mondragon University is well known in our region. Nowadays, I´m working for Bellacoopia project, where the aim is mainly to create a cooperative, where different students from all over Europe are members. Through this project I am able to work with different students, share our way of working and deal with all of them. email: karmeltz_10@hotmail.com |

Claudia Menozzi I'm Claudia. I'm an italian student attending a 2nd level degree in Economics and Management of Cooperatives and Non-Profit Organizations so I'm really interested in the field of cooperation. This year I had the opportunity to know in depth the world of European cooperation thanks to the internship at Uniser cooperative enterprise and thanks to Bellacoopia Europe project. Taking part in this kind of project I've understood the meaning of the word «cooperation» for each country participating in this project and I've also understood that the cooperation between people gives an added value to our work. Jokin Guridi My name is Jokin Guridi, I'm 25 years old and I'm from Bergara, a town situated in Spain. I'm a student in Grade in Business and Administration in Mondragon University. Nowadays I'm also working at the university, doing research work in open business, concrete themes related to business ethics and new organizing models. In this pioneer program called Bellacoopia Europe I have learnt that there are different ways to understand the concept of a cooperative as an enterprise. Working with people from other countries has taught me that there are other realities and I've understood better the cooperative culture and its development. I hate writing about myself so this was a hard exercise for me. If you want to talk, just write to this email: jguridiu@gmail.com |

Joanna Gwenllian Lane I am studying Politics and Geography at Leeds University in England. I found out about Bellacoopia Europe through the Greenaction Food Coop we run in my students union. Working with the Co-operative College in Manchester I have learnt lots of new things about co-operatives in the UK and across Europe. Working with other countries, comparing and sharing our different forms of cooperatives, has inspired me in my study, work and private life. I am sure that I will return to Italy for the coffee, the pasta and the hospitality. The rich culture of this region in cooperative enterprise, the institutional and public support for socially conscious business models has been an amazing eye-opener. I know that I have taken home new ideas, and for me this project has opened up the co-operative movement and all of the opportunities that it holds. Thanks to all the people involved! email: ee07jgl@leeds.ac.uk |

Rebecca Forecast I work in the “Co-operatives for Development” programme at the Co-operative College in Manchester. Bellacoopia has been a fantastic way to broaden my understanding of the co-operative movements in Poland, Spain and Italy, and to share my knowledge about the British co-operative movement with the other participants. Developing our own European co-operative was a fantastic way to put our knowledge into practice. Visiting co-operatives in the Forli region really demonstrated the strengths of co-operative enterprises and the benefits they can bring to their members and communities. The project will be a great way to encourage global co-operation in the future. email: beckyforecast@gmail.com |

Kevin Wilson I have learnt about other European co-operatives and have a general understanding of co-operatives. I know that co-operatives in the UK are a tiny percentage of businesses in comparison to the rest of Europe. Bellacoopia has also encouraged trans-european co-operation both in Forli and on the numerous skype calls. I particularly enjoyed the cheese and the pictures on the walls at the window co-operative. email: nivek@nivek.me.uk |

Agata Luniewska Agata from Slupsk (Poland), 22 years old. At the moment, I am studying Management and Work at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. Why am I here? As a member of the international organisation Erasmus Student Network, I was looking for opportunities to act on an international scale and suddenly Bellacoopia Europe found me. What does the project give to me? Bellacoopia Europe is a group of 16 people from different countries with various experiences. Thanks to my participation, I have learned how to cooperate with others beginning from simple activities like eating pizza, being connected with each other with the bracelets, and finally, with the cooperation in the writing of the business plan and the statute of the cooperative. It was an opportunity to get to know new methods and tools of cooperation in other countries. I hope that this knowledge will be useful in my future. email: agata.luniewska@gmail.com |
